The San Diego Go Club is hosting two tournaments on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the San Diego Chess Club in Balboa Park.

1) The 8th annual San Diego Go Championship: Open and Handicap Sections. 

4-rounds. 30-minute basic time per player. All entry fees in this tournament will be put in the prize pool with a minimum first prize to the 2019 San Diego Go Champion (Open winner) of $300. Last year there were 10 players in the Open including two 7-dans and five 6-dans and 34 players in the Handicap Section. Cash prizes will be given also in the dan, kyu, and double-digit sections.

      2013 San Diego Champion: Kevin Chou 1.3-dan (Handicapped Tournament)
      2014 San Diego Champion: Ari Saito 7.5-dan
      2015 San Diego Champion: Leran Zou 7.1-dan
      2016 San Diego Champion: Mark Lee 9.9-dan      2017 San Diego Champion: Chengjie Huang 7.2-dan      2018 San Diego Champion: Yi Wang 6.4-dan

2) The 1st annual San Diego Youth 13×13 Championship:

Hosted by the San Diego Go Club and run by Hai Li, 5P Chinese Go Pro.
Games will be rated by the California Go Association; Hai Li, will do the ratings.
Total time per game is a half-an-hour. Longer games than that will be adjudicated so that  rounds can start close to “on time.”
34 players competed in the 2018 California State Youth 13×13 Championship in November.

Players must register by 11:59 pm Friday, March 22, 2019 to play in first round. On-site registration for rounds 2-5 allowed.
Players must have AGA membership.
